Summer Term 2023
On 7th July, we visited Mossy Lea Farm in Glossop to take part in the 'Let's Learn Moor' project. We had a fantastic day and took part in six different activities. Take a look through our photos to find out more:
Learning about the role of the police on the moors:
Learning how the game keepers control fires on the moors
Working with the Gun Dogs
Learning about safety on the moors and about the peat bogs!
Learning about which animals are predators, and how these are controlled on the moors.
Finally, some of us sampled some barbecued grouse!
Spring Term 2023
Year 3 visit Manchester City Training Academy to play against other schools
Reading - World Book Day 2023
PSHE - Planting our own willow dome and tunnel. We worked in teams to dig, plant, stake and cover each sapling.
Reading - We joined a live online session with author Abi Elphinstone. She told us about some of the books she has written, as well as giving us some great tips on how to collect ideas for stories with imaginary settings. We are going to read her latest book - Saving Neverland for our class novel.
English - We have been concentrating on writing our own explanation texts. We made marble runs in small groups, then explained how they worked.
Autumn Term-2022
English - We followed instructions to make these woolly mammoths. We then wrote our own instructions to tell other people how to make them.
Foreign Languages - for European languages day, we learnt all about Norway. We learnt to say 'hei'- hi,'' takk- thankyou and 'har det' - goodbye. We made posters all about Norway.
English - Making our own 'Marvellous Medicines'. (George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl)
Geography - A walk to Ryecroft Park to look at the different activities that take place there.
